“I look at the Holy Spirit not as a dove, but as a sharp elbow. And, you know, and our job is to keep tender ribs so that we feel the nudge of that sharp elbow.”
Malachi 4:6 – He will turn the hearts of the fathers toward their children and the hearts of children to their fathers.
We want to see a generation of dads who are builders, who are saying with intentionality and focus with their time, with their money, with their passions. I’m going to build a family. I’m going to build towards having a heart connection with my kids. I’m going to build, in a direction that glorifies the Lord.
“I wanted him in this liminal space. My goal was to irreparably break his heart for the poor of the world so he’d never just be a spoiled, complacent American ever – He’d always be haunted, because those years are so formative… I just wanted to get in there, God’s heart for the poor.”
“How are your kids going to learn how to say sorry, unless they learn how to apologize from you? So your mistakes are actually one of the greatest opportunities to teach your children one of life’s most important lessons….I think it starts with prioritizing our children. Not idolizing. Prioritizing. Big difference there.”
A Christian man in sexual sin…is muzzled. This muzzle renders him passive and powerless to participate in the Kingdom of God on this earth. It prevents him from becoming the man, husband, father, and witness he is called to be. This spiritual restraint mutes his connection to God. Worse, it incapacitates him from fulfilling his God-given purpose.
How your heart’s doing affects everything else in your life. If your heart’s not doing well, you don’t love very well, if your heart’s not doing well you don’t have a lot of dreams. It is the epicenter.
Matthew 6:21 “For your heart will always pursue what you value as your treasure”… The more we treasure the dad life the more our heart will pursue more of it. Our heart will pursue what we treasure. My prayer is that you would ENJOY the dad life. You are dadAWESOME.
